that angela bird would get it to be fair. i'd just have to pretend she was in no way affiliated with Arch Wankery.

To be fair! Good for you, Boov! Keep up your generosity.

If she dressed like a woman and didn't sing for Arch Enemy (a band a actually quite like), yes, she would get it. In those pictures James posted of her, she actually looks alright in the one on the left.

I was going for hot-not so hot contrast, but couldn't really find anything more dramatic than that...

Do people think because its a male dominated music scene there is a place for girls as fans ?
People might think this is stupid but id really appreciate it if anyone could help !

Please forgive me. This post will be terrible because of my poor English, but I must write that.
I think everyone has the same right to like thrash metal, death metal or black metal and nobody can tell that listening to them is bad just because you are not a man. Passion to this or another kind of music doesn’t depend on your gender. You are created to listen to this or listen to another kind of music, like you are created to playing guitar, painting pictures, writing poems or making many other things in your life.
I think for women it is harder to get into thrash metal. If somebody told me few years ago that thrash is aggressive music with insane drum pounding, unpolished vocals, fast, destructive and brutal riffs and lyrics talking about endless wars, bloodshed, terror, destruction, nuclear assaults, mass extinction, Satan, and about how evil thrash band can be, I am sure that I would never put a thrash CD in my record player…
The truth is that the greater part of girls avoid thrash, even if they never heard the music, because they only heard about how is this music and they think that thrash is only a brainless and senseless thrashing on instruments and nothing more…
I would still think like this, if I didn’t heard thrash metal album by chance…
But I heard my first thrash album and I realized how wrong I was, and after that I bought more other thrash albums and began to collect them one by one. And they weren't "brainless and senseless thrashing on instruments" at all. Every album was something new and different for me, because every time I heard them I noticed some great riffs, melodies, interesting part of solos, and many other elements that I didn't notice before. And that was just amazing for me!
It wasn’t easy to get used to some of these albums and sometimes it took a little longer time to really like them, but step by step I was learning how to listen to the music by each band. And I didn’t even think that I shouldn’t listen to thrash because I am a woman. If you find the genre that you like it is a normal thing you want to get more and more into it.
After these few years I have learnt that the most important thing is not to become disinclined to something because you don’t like it after one hearing. Sometimes you must hear song several times, before you value it. I think maybe because of this, some girls give up too early and say they don’t like thrash. There were many albums, that weren’t amazing at first, but they are great for me now. Hellish Crossfire by Iron Angel for example…
I just can’t imagine that I would stop to listen the music I like because I am a woman or because some men think that due to my gender I can’t understand what is metal. It’s stupid to care about opinions given by people who doesn’t accept you because of your interests or because of your gender. They are the one who are wrong, not me.
Of course some thrash bands in their lyrics treat women like brainless things, but it doesn’t condemn women, but does not speak well for men, who wrote these lyrics. I don’t care about them personally, because if I treated every thrash metal lyric that serious I would go mad...
I think if you really like something you shouldn’t wonder what other people say. You should do what is right in your opinion, and if there is a kind of music that makes you happy, can give you so much energy and so much positive emotions, when you listen to it, it doesn’t really matter you are a woman or a man.

Hurrah. Although I think it's important to remember that the question wasn't bias in any way.

yer metal started out as a male dominated scene (female groupies)....but fuck that. If the music appeals to females, then why the fuck should it matter. I must admit i get pissed off, when a girl says she's into thrash, and can only name megadeth......and metallica, but whenever i see another girl into full on thrash, death, black, viking, 80's rock'n'fukin roll, i'm in awe, cos i respect them so much. It's like saying a big fuck you, and liking what the hell you want....now i sound like a fricken feminist. tbh whenever i go to a gig half the girls are either there to get laid/stand dully next to their bf, and the other half rockin out having a good time.
About the dressing metalhead way...there are plenty of sexy female metalheads in fucken denim and leather!! hmmmm headbanging in corsets hurts, and you end up showing way too much cleavage ....but yer, I always end up cutting my shirts, so i don't look butch(being into metal doesn't make a girl butch, or make a girl have to feel like they have to be butch!!!!!!! unless they are butch, then, well that's up to them).....meh.....tbh just dress the way you want.....
