Right, does anyone know what, in Satan's glorious name, is going on with Sound Control at the moment? I know all about it going into receivership but have no idea if certain branches remain open or what. I ask because Sound Control is/was the only guitar shop in Dunfermline and I cannot be ringed going all the way into town to check if it's still open because I'd have to walk up a fucking massive hill.
Am I going to have to resort to buying strings off th'internet now or what?

There is apparently a big shake up afoot in the Musical Instrument retail sector. Scoob's woman Morag works in Musical Instrument retail. I think it's something to do with the Guitar companies insisting that if a shop is having their guitars they have to stock the whole range and not just bits and bobs. Either that or Sound Control have just spread themselves too thin. Sure Scoob could get the full sp for you if you want.

Well I just phoned the Dunfermline branch - also the original branch - and the fannies aren't answering. To be honest, I would avoid the place if I had an alternative because no matter which branch you go to the staff are pricks that don't know what they're talking about. It is/was overly priced too.

Just sent Mo a text. They have gone into administration due to their liabilities outstripping their assets. I am reading stuff on t'internet just now about folks who have ordered gear and have basically been told that they won't be seeing the gear or their money back (if they paid by cash).

AH! HA!
My branch was closed on 30 May although it was also one of the ones kept open for a while longer.

I get the Mi-Pro mag every month. Basically, they're selling a dying business.

Scayles is shite too.
Where's GuitarGuitar in Edinburgh? I quite like them even although they're not cheap either.

Right, now it's established I cannot buy strings without busting my balls and going to Edinburgh, who knows of super-awesome sites that sell strings for next to nothing?

By the loch next to the bagpipe museum. Ahhh stereotypes.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Shut your mouth before I soap up your mother's ring and lick* it out like a cream egg.
I tend to go to GuitarGuitar in Glasgow but, seeing as I'm now living closer to Edinburgh than Glasgow, I need to know the location of the Edinburgh shop.
I managed to get a set of three D'addarios [I like D'addarios] 10s for £9.49 off eBay: £3.16 per set is less than I'd usually pay. It looks like eBay is going to become an even more central part of my life now. I logged in wanting to buy strings but also bought 24 picks too. I'm just waiting for the GAS [Gear-Acquisition Syndrome] to kick in again...
