I'm a bookseller at Waterstones. I'm pretty happy with it, it can be rewarding in places, but also pretty annoying when you just get fat lowlives all day going "ave ya got dat new loose women book anywhere like".

That's shocking! I had no idea that people that produce/watch that programme are literate!

Student at Leeds Met doing retail marketing management. It's alright, made some really good friends on it. Tried chemistry at Leeds Uni fut failed the first year so I dropped out. Currently working at my local Asda on the counters department, and hope to get on the company's graduate scheme in October. Already been rejected once (in before €800 banter) but my manager said he'll help me blag through it next time I apply, providing I'm still working for him when the time comes. The department's made a turn for the worst lately; always short staffed because nobody will cover for each other so not a lot gets done and the amount of waste we throw out is abysmal, which in turn affects our bonus, because there are a few people who won't pull their finger out of their arses!

I do nothing!!!

Currently mainly occupied by guitar playing, metal and just hanging about really... some pc games, drinkin, and smokin weed in there aswell... and some bike rides

Tesco fired me (cunts) despite me being the so-called 'expert' on the system we used in our stockroom... they even sent me to scotland to train a whole department of staff (whilst still on my crappy basic tesco wage..) and then i got the boot, just before new years (yayyy)...
So now I'm just looking for a job that I stand at least some chance of getting; one where I don't need previous experience in something I have never done, one where I don't need a crappy qualification or a driver's license, or one that isn't cleaning toilets or old peoples homes...

Yeha fuckin right.... jobs are shit around here, really really shit.... every job must get applied to by at least 500 people, there's so much unemployment in my little town :(

Will I even make it to Headbangers Open Air...?

Why did you get fired from Tesco? Did you steal some cheese?

Work for Sky. They're always looking and have places dotted all over the... place. You do have to leave the house and talk to people, though, so working does have it's major drawbacks.

I work for Tuffnells the parcel company loading trucks all night on a 10 hour shift. It's so satisfying and fills my life with glee and joy... NO, it's destroying my will to live! The money is good though, but I don't know where it goes.

I also work as a part time guitar tutor in a music school, which is alot more rewarding than putting boxes on trailers, but can be very annoying at times. I had to teach a Greenday song called When I Come Around. It's bad enough hearing it once, but now I've heared it about 100 times, played by beginner groups of kids. I want Greenday to go the way of Jade Goody.

I'm currently finishing off a degree in English at Sheffield Hallam. I hate it. I don't know what job I'm going to get aftewards.

Employment wise, I've only ever worked in pubs. In Matlock I worked as the assistant chef, making starters and preparing salads and all the basically easy stuff. In my second year of Uni I worked as a chef in a Scream pub. That was completely soul destroying - I had to quit after 3 months because they were making me work full time (whilst juggling uni work) and my boss was a total moron.

My job is being awesome 24/7. I'm doing pretty well at it, the pay isn't so great, but when you are so awesome all the time, it totally makes up for it.

My other job is being a Sound Engineer/Producer. I work out of 2 studios (www.earthworksstudios.co.uk - and - www.myspace.com/skinnycatstudios) and i also do live work at various venues in and around Camden/London. Being freelance is great, but also the worst, sometimes i have money and i can live, other times i can be cripplingly poor for weeks on end, which is shiiiit, but i do actually enjoy my job, so i never get the feeling of "oh my job is soo shit and blah blah blah" so that is definitely worth the hard times for.

oh yeah, i also laughingly run a record label, which is now not much more than a logo, an empty bank account, and a large pile of unsold CDs in my room... UKThrash:Not for Profit! - i better add that i have had the best time putting out Bangers and Thrash, and although i haven't really made any money from it, i wouldn't want to either, i've gained things from doing this that are worth so much more than money.
