Artefacts of the Black Rain is a fantastic song. I actually remember having a lot of time for the Jester Race and Clayman too. I'd hardly class myself as a big fan, but they've written some fucking catchy songs.

They're wank. APART FROM Take this Life, which is an absolutely fucking amazing song.
The rest is just awful.

I completely agree with Iain, imagine that. Artefacts on the Black Rain is indeed a great song. I haven't listened to it in ages and I can still sing the brilliant main riff to myself in my head, that's how memorable it is. The Jester Race is a great album. I don't care what genre it is, it's just great music. Colony, Whoracle and Clayman are all good albums. They turned to absolute shit with Reroute To Remain and continued getting worse ever since, but before they sold out and got all rubbish and shit, they were a good band.

People agree with me all the time on here. It's just not as well a documented phenomenon as it should be because people are scared of being shunned by others for doing so.

Re: Best In Flames Album
Jester race deserves a lot more credit than it gets, everything up to 2001 was pretty spot on. If you like melodic death metal, try early Amorphis or At the Gates' Terminal Spirit Disease.

Re: Best In Flames Album
At The Gates are just the best and piss over every band.
But regarding In Flames, I've got Clayman and don't rate it too highly, but I heard the album with Clad in Shadows + The Inborn Lifeless and thought they were pretty cool songs.
What album are they off?

In Flames are gay. They opened for Motorhead once, so I hid away at the bar till Lemmy came on.
I wish In Flames were dead.
Uuuuhhhh, fuckin' melodic death metal core crust grind porn metal uuuuuhhhhh

Re: Best In Flames Album
okay i think the general consensus is to try At The Gates so will probably do so
also so you know The Inborn Lifeless is off the Subterranean EP whilst Clad In Shadows is off The Lunar Strain
both pretty good albums if I'm honest

Re: Best In Flames Album
Hate In Flames with a passion. Seen them twice - supporting Motorhead in 2005 and Slayer the following year - and both times, they were shit. Can't get into them, don't want to.
