I was wondering if there were any thrash albums or bands that are not really talked about or that you feel are pretty neglected.

I would just like to mention Crossover styled maniacs Ludichrist. I listened to their Immaculate Deception album for the first time in probably just over a year and I had forgotten just how awesome it is. Frequently mentally fast, a great dose of humour and little funk and rap touches to diversify the beast a little more. Definitely think that Tom should check them out if he hasn't because they have a flavour that HKFC/Playground/Whatever would definitely appreciate.

Another I'll mention, I put down with a bad taste in my mouth. Viking's Man of Straw album is really nice. All the songs are really good but White Death, Case of the Stubborns and the epic Winter are real hidden thrash gems.

Anyone have any obscure albums they wish to recommend or show their appreciation for?

Not really thrash i suppose but i love most of The Accused's stuff and Old Lady Drivers and Spazz as well.

Anacrusis - 'Suffering Hour'. I've written something about this album to possibly go in an 'overlooked' feature in the Zine of Evil, but dunno if I'll use it. Anyway this album is superb; truly unique vocals, extremely catchy but brutal songwriting, lots of thrash agression but a chuggy heavy metal edge as well.

anacrusis are ridiculously underrated

but these few bands are some of the most overlooked but incredible GREAT bands

Accuser
listen to Experimental Errors EP and Repent
They are one of my favorite German Thrash Metal band of all time
too bad they got so damn overlook,
or even those know they are exist, they never really listen to their music.

Stone
My another favorite thrash metal band
their first two album is CLASSIC
too bad they don't get enough fame they deserve

Cardinal Sin
Puerto Rico Thrash, melodic and aggressive
They are absolutely wondeful but too bad they never get a record deal,
Khaosmaster Productions release a compilation album on 2004,
including their demos and live, which is a little piece of lost thrash metal gem

Necronomicon
Maybe this one is my very personal taste
but I really love their first two album too much,
pure Old raw shitty simple German thrash
fans of Early Destruction/Sodom even Celtic Frost should at least give them a try!

Without raiding my archives, here are 3 off the top of my head:

Phantasm - with Katon DePena on vocals, Gene Hoglan on drums & Ron McGovney (original Metallica bassist) how the hell didn't this make a major impact back in '87? The material is as amazing as the line-up sounds. Get the "Wreckage" CD with the archive material.

Piranha - Paul Baloff's post Exodus outfit. Went for years without ever signing a deal.

Major Threat - UK band with just 1 awesome demo tape in '88, featuring Dark Murphy (aka Mark Duffy of Toranaga) on vocals.

Oh, I thought of 1 more - Soothsayer from Canada, who's demo was better than their album.

Formicide! Check those crazy fucking insectoid freaks out. Squeee!

You wanna listen to E-X-E. They are pretty sweet.

Their 1988 demo is the best, some seriously heavy riffing on that one.

Some of the new European bands are amazing, such as Rezet, and some others I've got on Myspace but I'm at work at the moment and need a poo aswell which doesn't help. Yeah Tungsteno too, not sure if they're European though.

I thought Have A Good Time was ogood, but I agree their demo was far far better.
