Dunno if this is in the wrong part of the forum or not.

Anyway, I got a DIY guitar kit from the missus and erm... has anyone ever made a guitar before, because I'm fucking lost. There's no instructions at all, just nuts, bolts, switches and wires!!! I've been playing for years, but I never bothered learning how the damn things work.

Looks pretty straightforward to me, all the holes are there and shit. You might wanna paint it first, I have a mate who knows a good paint website, I'll try and remember to ask about it. I reckon probably the longest screws want to go in the neck. Dunno if the pickups are the same, if not I dunno how you'd figure out which goes where other than trial and error. Looks like you either want this one (one volume knob and 2 tones):

You can tell if a pot is a volume pot or a tone pot because tone pots will have a capacitor on them. Looks as though that part is already done for you, and you'd only need to solder the pickups to the switch. Hope that helps.

Yeah i was thinking that, plus i imagine the build quality would be shit as i would be building it.

Why don't you just cut the head to the shape you want it?

One thing I forgot to mention about painting, remember to put laquer on! Sorry if that seems patronising, but I've seen what happens when you paint your guitar with no laquer, basically your chest and arms will end up the same colour as the guitar. If I were doing it I'd put a mega awesome picture under the laquer, like this:
