Yep, I'm running the beta on my 3GS. It's not ground breaking tbh and the multitasking is limited compared to other phones on the market. Only certain apps can run in the background (music streaming for example) . It's still the best smart phone on the market though.

The problem is the iPhone is SO power hungry they can't have general purpose background apps and have the battery last a 24 hours.

None of it matter though, the AppStore makes it worth every penny.

People who get iPhones are never the same again. You go to the pub with them and they're just sat there fiddling with their apps all night.

I didn't think I was bothered about such things but I have found myself thinking it would be nice to have an iPhone lately. However it's a lot of money to spend in one go, and I have a perfectly decent phone already that I shouldn't discriminate against just because I can't turn it on its side and play it like pan pipes or whatever.

My dad has that nokia, he loves it!

Lasted 10 years whereas the iphone will be out of date in 2 months by the sounds of it.

To be fair, I wouldn't pay over my contract for an iPhone, I pay £40 a month for 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data so I'll hopefully get an iPhone free when I upgrade

The only thing I'm not sure on is data and tethering. I get 500MB of free data anyway, but that doesn't include tethering your iPhone over Bluetooth, whereas I can tether my Tocco and use it for nothing. Not sure how they can tell "tethered" data traffic from "untethered", but I'll cross that bridge when/if I come to it. If browsing on an iPhone is as good as everyone says it is, I won't need to tether that much anyway.

You used to be able to install a hacked tethering 'profile' but Apple blocked that a few releases ago. AFAIK you need to pay for a bolt-on to tether. This sucks since you've already payed for bandwidth!

I didn't really have enough of a go with it to give a proper review - just think a much bigger iPhone I guess. As you can see from my phone, I'm not the best person to review new technology!
