Surely the band will go down like a lead balloon and their reunion will be a total flop. I'm sure it is very exciting to play a big venue and to a big crowd, but the atmosphere will be dreadful! Really weird decision.

In theory I'd be up for approaching them to play an alldayer but realistically I don't think we're going to be able to do another one, at least not here in Brum. There's just no venues here at all available to us that would suit, the situation is totally miserable. In fact, between this and a few other factors it's looking like we might not be able to book any more shows at all after the ones we have already lined up :(

This post has gone under the radar of deth joy, this is fucking terrible news. What's happening? Just short of places that will host you?

when the macc lads didnt have anywhere to play, they just played from the back of a lorry

We've still got the Bristol Pear, but its not the best venue and the setup we have for sound is poor. We're booking bigger and better bands all the time and frankly its kinda taking the piss to have some guys over from Germany or whatever and then set them up on that little stage with Dave doing the sound. Its also quite depressing to still be there after 3 years - I hoped we'd have moved on a bit since then. Mainly however its down to a combination of us being dead broke and Pove and Bill's work situations seriously limiting their involvement.

I don't want to hijack this thread by going all emo though. John, I didn't realise it was you who ran the LMD Myspace page, nice work mate. Please get them to play a show that doesnt involve supporting any benders!

Have faith Luke, somewhere always turns up just like in Bradford. They always shut us down and we always come up with another venue. It just doesn't happen over night. I mean, it's Birmingham for fecks sake, it needs metal.

As for supporting benders, I like the idea of:
Lawnmower Deth
H.O.D.
Let Em Burn

well, that's the plan (obviously with LEB opening, then HOD then LD headline).

I saw the bands getting bigger, you had Origin the other night, one of my faves in the new wave of broodal shid. I don't think anyone overly minds the sound etc, it's a top night out as much as anything else.
I feel for you though, I had the same problem in Warrington, wanted to start a scene but no venues wanted to know or doing it there was just a plain old bad idea and it gets depressing. Our bands been going for 2 years now and we haven't even played our home town, shame really.

I'd definately be up for that.
Actually the 'Deth are from round my way, only saw them once, late 80's if memory serves,at the mighty Sutton in Ashfield Golden Diamond.Happy days.
My mate Brian still has at least three different tour shirts,he went to see them loads of times,he's got one that's a parody of singing drummer Phil Collins that says "No Strait Jacket Required"
"Thorn wishes aegis,rapturous beasts below"
"Aegis arising,the colours of space"

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

No problem, other than whoever's red this thread then I've said nothing, not even to the band! Our guitarist is away for a week in November so if it clashes I'll have a nervous breakdown. Fingers and toes crossed on all accounts eh? watch this space (or thread anyway).

Hello all.

Yep, John's qute correct, we are indeed trying to sort out a warm up gig. Proving more difficult than I expected if I'm honest.

Kev can't make any dates in November (apart form the BFMV one.. obviously) due to his work load with the Bullets. However, he is joining us for rehearsals in October and muted the Idea of a warm up at the end of October.

However (there's always one of those !), Pete and Myslef may not be able to do it due to work pressure's (Yep, we all have jobs and lead the life of Mr Normalton.. life's quite ironic in that way)

We've managed to rehearse once since this was announced, and that was last week. Just the 3 of us at the moment (Chris Mightymo, Mr Flymo and myself- concorde) We've got another rehearsal this week but this week we will be joined by Paddy (guitarist on Ooh Crikey) He just happened to be in the next room to us when we rehearsed last week, great to catch up with him again and he's offered to help out in rehearsals. Shame he can't do the Bullet gig with us as he's already booked a holiday. However, if we do get a warm up arranged in October, then I'm sure he will join us for some merriment.

Chris Mightymo has put some pic's of the last rehearsal up on his Myspace page... you can see for yourself that we haven't aged that great :)

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... mId=913467

He's also done a bit of a blog un all

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... =418569396

So, If you want to see some old bastards play a few ditties from the late 80's early 90's then we will be mega chuffed to see you all at Ally Pally.. and if we do manage to sort out an October date I'm sure John will let you know ;)

Cheers
Steve
