Deadfall call it a day

Postby Jimmi-Deadfall on Sat May 26, 2007 1:42 am

Official Statement from bass player Jimmi Mansell

Hey,

I am very sorry to announce that Nottingham based thrash metal band Deadfall have split up, and called it a day. The bands remaining three members, Mike Thompson, Pete Mather and myself all decided that due to frequent line up changes and difficulties within the band, that the spark had gone and our hearts were no longer in the band. We all had an awesome time gigging and playing with so many kick ass bands, the time we had thrashing as hard as possible was a fuckin' blast!

We would like to pay a huge amount of thanks to many people, who helped and supported Deadfall. We'd like to thank all the bands we played with, Pitiful Reign, Illuminatus, Evile, Fourway Kill, Dissident, Evil Scarecrow, Bio-Mechanical, Insidious etc etc, the list of cool bands we played with is endless, you guys all kick ass!

We'd also like to thank certain individuals such as Julio from Illuminatus for helping us out in the early days, Iain from the Thatched House, Jemma for all her help and support, Frank for driving us around so much and coming to every single gig, and all our badass fans who thrashed their asses off for us, you know who you are! And a big thanks to everyone who bought a CD, bought a t-shirt, and listened to us! We'd also like to thank Dave and Ryan for their time in the band, it was killer!

Currently, Mike and Pete have a new band called Cynapse (http://www.myspace.com/cynapseband) and i've got a new band as well called Territory (http://www.myspace.com/territoryband1). Check out for updates, as we'll both be gigging very soon!

I'm gonna leave the myspace as it is, so you can still listen and download the songs, and if anyone wants a t-shirt or a CD, we have some left, so just send us a message.

Deadfall have a final gig, on June 22nd at Junktion7 in Nottingham, 'Jemma's Birthday Thrash Bash'. We are playing with fellow thrashers Fury, Rager and headliners Pitiful Reign, so that's your last chance to catch us live! Make sure you all come down, it's free entry as well, it's gonna be awesome! Doors are 9pm.

So another thanks to everyone, and we'll hopefully see you again soon!

MAN WAS BORN TO THRASH!

Sorry to hear this. Deadfall will be a big loss to the UK thrash scene. Good luck with your new bands. I hope it all goes well for you. Thanks for helping us out with the Marshall Law gig.

Bloody Hell. First Headless Cross split-up and now Deadfall and both in the Terrorizer feature. Is it cursed?

Sad to see you go fellas, will try and be there for your farewell.

Heretic next?

This is a proper shame. rom what I heard on the myspace, I thought Deadfall had a really nice, sincere sound. Still, good luck for the future. What are your new bands about? And do you accept cheques?

Deadfall - "We can still come in for meetings... who wants to have a meeting?"
Heretic - "No one wants to have a meeting with you, no one wants to have a drink with you. You aren't even a band any more."
Pitiful Reign - "Err.. yeah we'll have a drink with you Deadfall."
