I turned up at 7.30 when I was supposed to be meeting Doyle etc. waited 30-45 mins... left my phone round my girlfriends house so couldn't call anyone and just thought "fuck... no ones comin, I'm a lone ranger!!!"... so i left, just to turn up to me missus house turn on me phone, call D and find out everyone went and I just missed them!

Hi guys. I'm Anne's son. I appreciate you're just having a laugh and you're probably not expecting anyone related to Anne to read this - but please consider this forum is quite visible to anyone who Googles her name.

I can see the funny side to what you've done, but some of what you've said is offensive (taking into account the other thread). I'm not saying you don't have a right to criticise, but if Anne saw this, how do you expect she'd feel? (a rhetorical question by the way.) As would be anyone who hasn't had the success with their music over the years that they'd hoped for, she's a pretty sensitive elderly woman.

Thankfully, she didn't see your irony earlier and was over the moon with your response when I phoned her afterwards. (I don't live in London anymore so wasn't able to make it.) So thank you very much, you've made her very happy! Getting her to sign your t-shirts indeed...

I know her music's as far away from TM as Anthrax is to anyone on The X Factor, but her lyrics are well-intentioned and sometimes very poetical. The sounds on the Yamaha and Casio keyboards she uses can suck granted, and she needs a producer, but the actual melodies for some of her songs are really good, if not quite your cup of tea!

If you ever did cover any of her songs (crazy as that would be), albeit with double bass drumming and shred guitar - please don't do so if it would be as a sarcastic joke - that's hurtful.

And... yes, you can turn some of her tunes into thrash... it would be awesome!
No one wants to hurt or upset her... but if it wasn't for this forum, there probably wouldn't of been people turning up to pay £5 to get in, as no one really knows who she is... apart from the UK Thrash bandits!

Fear not, Son of Seagull, we never had dishonourable intentions at the gig last night. We were always planning on giving her a magnificent response, and at the end of the day, she made us happy and we made her happy! Actually I'm really glad we met her, because she really was a wonderful, lovely person. I genuinely had a great time last night, Anne has brought a lot of joy into our lives and I wish her the best of luck with her music.
