Well we peaked in the league in about 1999 and got to the Champs League semis in 2000 and have gotten progressively worse since then, except for a peak in our second season in the Championship where we bailed in the playoff finals and then got relegated the next year. The fact that we didn't reach the Champions League back in the 2000/01 season effectively doomed us thanks to Peter "cunt" Risdale basically spending billions relying on this fact.

The resurgence is partly down to Ken Bates's money and Dennis Wise, no matter how shit we thought/think they are.
