So, how many of you picked up on this Sabbath tribute by Estonian Medieval players, Rondellus?

This was released some 6 years ago now, and was something that I promoted over here in the UK. A totally original take on Sabbath, played with medieval instruments and with the lyrics translated into Latin. The thing is, it worked so damn well!

I saw, whilst checking for other links on Amazon, there is a string quartet tribute to Sabbath on there... and also one to AC/DC, called "Back In Baroque". I kid you not!!

stille volk are, from what i remember, fucking awful!!!
they used to be signed to holy records (nightfal, misanthrope, godsend etc) and i had a copy of one of their albums where they were all dressed in fur n feathers, and it was terrible shit!!!

Regarding Stille Volk, I have "Hantoma", which was their debut, along with their prior demo. Misanthropy Records were trying to sign them first up, till Holy Records took up the deal. Tiziana sent me the demo and I thought it was a bit of a joke. The album was better, but not much.

I even did my joke project called "Tarquinius Sextus", which had songs recorded on a kazoo and cardboard boxes. It got sent out to all relevant labels, such as Misanthropy, Candlelight, Cold Meat Industries, etc. Of course, I never let on that the recording was me, and the contact address was a mate of mine that lived in Hendon.

I received some hilarious feedback from Lee Barrett @ Candleshite, who was rang me up and ranted and raved about how shit it was, and wondering who had sent it.

The more recent Stille Volk tracks sound a lot better, so check out the Maiden cover & "Foret D'Outre Tombe" from their new album. Mind,if you don't like the style anyhow, you probably won't like them either.

I heard some of this around the time it came out, all seemed pretty good. I meant to get the CD but never found a copy.
