What are you learning?

Postby Dian Wei on Sat Jun 02, 2007 12:29 pm

Well unless you are coming up with new songs etc, what songs are you learning on your electric banjos (aka guitars), basses and/or drums.

I am learning, or rather re-learning Welcome Home - King Diamond.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

All the lead work from Testament's Alone In The Dark. People may not like them (i do) but Alex Skolnick is a fucking god at writing/playing solos...

I've not learned a song that wasn't my own in years.

Great riff. I was playing around one day and it just came to me. It was great.

I'm just learning band stuff and Jeff Loomis stuff.

Aye it is good practice for a shitty player like me. Alternate picking, Hammers Ons it is a good practice track.

Plus it is a awesome song.

I decided "Hey I know, why not learn an Avenged Sevenfold song" so I picked up my bass, brought up the tab to Beast and the Harlot...took about 30 seconds to get the whole song down. Lazy twat bassist

I'm in too much of a good mood, so I might try and play some Primus to anger myself.

The only songs I've learned lately, (other than stuff I've written myself) is Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead by Cannibal Corpse because my band said they'd grow some balls and cover it, ACDC's back in black because I had to teach it to a bunch of kids at a music school (£13 an hour! WHOOO)
and Slave New World, Chaos AD and Roots Bloody Roots, so I could help out more music students (again, for £13 an hour! hahaha).

Roots Bloody Roots is easily the shittest song ever written. I can't believe I used to like it.
