Re: Heretic - Empire: On Myspace Now
We are mixed live....
Its a simple matter of practice. If we don't or barely practice leading up to the gig then we're shit obviously- and if don't sound check/ have to rush around getting there/ setting up/ under pressure to finish etc etc. Negative psychology int it.
But when we do rehearse well before and are allowed to relax sound checking/ setting up we're great. For instance the gig at 'the Mist' in Derby in December. The Earache reps who were there were really impressed- prompted the article on the Earache website about us being a possible band to outlast the UK Thrash resurgence and Digby himself coming down to see us himself in Derby last week.
But again- he caught us after limited practice, our bassist being disinterested at his last gig and not practicing before hand and us not soundchecking/ rushing to set up/ pressured to squeeze our set into the time. We didn't sound very good.
When we're rushed, we're shit live- that's all I can say. Just doesn't work well for us when we are.
As for the Birmingham gig I think it was the bullshit about Lees little brother that put the dampener on that one!

A Word From The Fourth Estate is now up on Myspace too. This is a rougher recording without the better drum track but it has a better feel to it than the newer one I did.

Hehe I know I was only teasing, I reckon its because your so unique and you dont sound like anyone else, so unless people like you, its hard to be won over.

The breakdown on AWFRFA is well tidy (2:00-2:10). But yeah, splendid, really. Bloody lovely.
