Fair enough I suppose! I was never a huge fan of Metallica (when I said they'd been rubbish since Justice I meant including Justice - I only enjoy the stuff before that. And The Black Album is the worst of the lot!) so its probably easier for me to 'switch off' to them nowdays.
That said, I was a huge fan of Megadeth and Anthrax when I was younger but wouldn't give either the time of day now. Maybe I'm just all bitter and cynical :shame:
I killed Reanimator.

Well out of them all, Megadeth have faired the best in terms of not getting total wank.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

But their last album was a lot of total wank. They never got as childish as modern Metallica, but in my opinion they got just as shit. Plus modern Metallica are much better than modern Megadeth live in my onion.

The past four Megadeth albums have been complete wank. I would have to say Anthrax have done the best but, even then, the majority of Volume 8 was terrible.

Anthrax have clearly done the worst.

Nah, I thought they were quite well poised to make the jump from '80s Thrash to Groove Metal - or whatever you call it - to fit in with Pantera. Youthanasia is clearly the best post-Thrash album that the Big Four have put out but Risk through to United Abominations (worse title than Death Magnetic) have really undermined Megadeth in my book. It's a bit of a shame because Megadeth are by far and away my favourite Metal band ever.

I think the problem with Anthrax is that, like Testament, their post-Thrash stuff got no exposure whatsoever. Granted, some of it was just shite but nowhere near as bad as Diabolus In Musica, Risk or St. Anger. I guess Megadeth are the only one of the four to have put out three stellar albums - Countdown To Extinction, Youthanasia and Cryptic - but this is balanced out by the last ten years of terribleness. Anthrax, on the other hand, remained largely consistent until the hare-brained idea of a reunion tour prevailed and fucked any future prospect of Anthrax being good. Anthrax, with John Bush, are also the best live band out of the lot.

They haven't done a good job of it since 1990. I liked Youthanasia almost as much as Peace Sells but their more recent forays into Thrash have been downright deplorable. I almost wet myself when I started listening to Slayer's newest album when it came out because the first two tracks were pretty much as Thrash as you can get but then the rest of the album was a joke. Besides, they're all in their '40s now - they shouldn't be writing Thrash any more.

I've always said that. We've had meetings where we've both said it.
