What pedals do you use ?

Postby phodg on Fri Sep 15, 2006 3:02 pm

I'm just dicking around with a guitar and a few pedals. What pedals do people use ? And what settings give you the best sound ?

i use a super overdrive, set with the level on ten, to get even more chunk i bought a noize gate and now i can stick the level on ten and the overdrive at about 4, its chunky as fuck and its also really clear, make sure the gain on the amp is at about 2 or 3 tho. :)

Boss MT2 Metal Zone for practicing.

Only use a Rocktron Digital Delay with my live setup usually, and I hardly use that.

I have a multi effects processor, but if I didn't i'd probably only buy a distortion, Wah, Flanger and Chorus pedal, they're my most used effects anyway.

I'm not really a guitar player but I've always thought, if money were no object and I wanted some cool pedals, I'd buy an Ibanez Tube Screamer through an already cranked amp. Like a Marshall JCM800 or something. Also a Dunlop crybaby wah, the Zakk Wylde one is apparently really cool, and that's about the size of it! I've also seen Tube screamers used as solo boosts which sounds pretty rad. Can be a bit pricey though...

On bass I kind of chop and change, but I've got a pedal board set out for:
Sansamp Bass Driver D.I. (the absolute coolest pedal, the only one I always use)
Boss Bass Chorus
Boss Bass distortion
Boss Dynamic Wah w/ Roland Expression pedal

I also own a couple of others like DOD envelope filter but then we could be here all day!

Coolio! Never used a direct drive pedal before. I'd love to be able to try them, they seem to be very popular...if not expensive!
