i thinmk it's up to the band themselves, if the name fits the music then it's fine, but if there's a band doing the same thing with the same name, then it's a bit too much of a clash!
i like original band names, Gama Bomb is a good example

I don't think it holds much significance. I think a good name that is representative is the most important thing. Obviously certain band names could never be copied like DRI and Guns N Roses but more generic ones like Possessed, Testament, Destruction etc are inevitably going to crop up more than once. Most the bands I know, including the ones on here, have pretty decent, accurate names- Heretic, Gama Bomb, Mutant etc. I think the most original is Nebukadnezza. What the fuck does that mean?????? I took me about five attempts to get the pronounciation. Still, a cool name.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

There's a couple of bands with our name, including one moderately successful Greek one from the 80s, but I don't see it being a problem unless we ever achieved a degree of success.

hehe, he was a babylonian king there was a legacy of them , I II and III i think, the actual spelling of his name is Nebuchadnezzar but we spell it Nebukadnezza, he has a story in the bible aswell which im not too familiar with cant remember most of it something about being a nutter haha
i think its cool to try and be a bit original with band names, something that can set you apart a bit is never a bad thing in my opinion.

Indeed, that's why I called my band, erm, Firestorm... er, yes. Well, I couldn't think of anything, and that was the only word in the dictionary that took my fancy.
Nebukadnezza is a great name indeed, but the word always reminds me of how shit The Matrix sequels were, and also of Morpheus's humorous face.

We've been pretty lucky with are name (Seregon) i think theirs a Black metal band from norway with like 2 member's called Seregon and there's a model from the US that is called Seregon O'Dassey
It's always hard coming up with a name thats different and that doesn't sound like crap.
We used to be called Th1rt3en for hell's sake

Neb/kez is also the name of the spaceship in "The Matrix"! The king sounds cooler though, hah.
That's the greatest name I've ever fuckin seen, seriously. Go back to it, it sounds like a wicked b-movie.
My old thrash band were called 'Trucido', which is latin for killing, massacre etc. only other person using it was some weird industrial/electronic shite from japan, we didn't think anything of it until he threatened us with legal action!
Owned the silly twat by showing him some copyright laws though, so up his.
I personally think that in regards to the thrash scene, unless you can pull something really cool out, you're better off going with a nice generic name, keep it tongue in cheek!
