Who'd going to book them for the uk then? Should only cost about £1500 for a package with probally three bands in total.

This is brilliant news. Hirax are just great and I imagine they rule live. I'm picking tickets up asap.

thanks for correcting my spelling, you know i cant spell. Hirax tried to get some uk dates this year but for some reason no uk promotors would touch them, lets hope someone does this time. They asked Luci for FTA but she couldnt bring the date forward at all, and the cost. Any promoters reading this get in contact with Hirax please.STD_Caps wrote:demonic-dave wrote: probally

Yeah we were asked, Originally they wanted to play in Birmingham on the 24/09 I think, but as we have no suitiable venue's it was'nt going to happen.
Plus we cant afford to put on shows like that.

More top spelling from Pove there!
The reason this (and tons of other excellent tours) don't get on over here is because the scene is just too weak to support it. Lets say this tour is £1500 per doubt - in theory thats not bad - but it means that to break even a promoter would need to sell 100 tickets at £15 each to break even on that alone, without looking at any other costs such as venue... and a turnout of 100 in my experience would not be something you could take for granted.
On the mainland it's feasible but over here apathy is so rife that it just wouldn't happen.

reason noone touching this uk tour in sept is that t he german booker dosnt have a clue. he put a package of 4 bands together (4!) . 3 of which noone gives a sht about and wonders why noone in uk. including myself will touch it.
told hirax to leave all the euro bands in europe and come to uk by themselves .we have enough bands to make good gigs happen and the guarantee wont be a whopper

yep. £1,500 seems like a lot when three of the bands will pull practically no-one through the door. One of the bands who were also on that package (Fatal Embrace) I am a fan of, but would be pretty hard pushed to find even 10 people in the UK who has heard of them (or gives a shit about them enough to go and watch them). I'm sure if it were Hirax touring alone it would have been a more reasonable price and more promoters would touch them over here.

I think hirax should be charging around the same fee as evile or tankard anywere between 300 and 600 wound would be ok, 1500 is for the exodus's of this world.if they were charging less they prob could get 2 or 3 bookings in the uk and ireland. For a band trying to sort out there FIRST euro tour i think its a bit loftie.[/s]

We have enough quality local bands to act as support to bring US acts over here. I'm looking forward to Fueled By Fire if they decide to come. Being signed to Metal Blade I expect they will.

I seem to remember ONSLAUGHT asking for about £2000 just to be added to a UK Thrash date! WTF.
