wanker! how can u say u have mostly given up metal? can you actually choose what u like and what you dont? i cant!!!!!!!! I loved metal since i was 8 and still do, i am not elitist, i just go with what appeals to me. I really dont want to share posts with a prick like you. You are like one of those trendy twats who follows fasion, not their heart. I mean, a trendy will wear red when its the fasion, and not wear blue, then 2 months later when blue is trendy and red isnt, they wear blue. That mentality sucks big time, and we dont want those sort of cunts here anyway. The people ypou call elitist are the people who follow their hearts and listen to a style even when it isnt popular. you cant just "go off" metal, fuck off and dont come back!
I did more-or-less the same thing to be honest, though I used more 'If you don't agree that KISS are the greatest band since shit ceased to be made from glass then you are the infidel!'-based rhetoric.
Whilst I'm less hostile to Thrash now than I was about a year ago, I'll never be into it the way I was when I was listening to shite like Morbid Saint. So to that extent, yeah, I can choose what I like. However, I still get the occasional want to stick on Souls of Black or whatever.
truth is that a lot of the guys i knew at school (25 years ago) who were into thrash, and metal in general, who i have met in subsequent years no longer listen to it. They say it was a "phase they went through". I really dont understand that if im honest. i have, do and honestly think always will love metal. I do listen to other types of music, but not to any great degree, not because i dont think that i should, but because it doesnt appeal to me. And iain, yeah, i remember you going through that phase, in fact we had some quite heated exchanges as i remember (not much changes ), but if we were all to come on here and say the same things about the same subjects it would bore me to tears.
I would be very interested to see which of the posters here are going to still be thrashers 25 years from now
