I think he really has finally completely lost it... then again if I had been sacked from Iron Maiden, got into loads of debt with my record label, had to play in a pub in Streatham with Jon Kushner as the assistant sound engineer, and then my wife went and suddenly died, I'd probably be a bit messed up too... well, I'd at least be bald and fat. I don't know if I'd make myself look like Jesus on album cover for an album called The King of Metal. That's going a bit far.

Hahaha, the anecdotes about him being carried around while he was singing 'Manhunt' and the bra on his head were particularly amazing!

The new Wolfsbane's not great, either. I think I was way too excited about their return.

Possible contenders for the 'King of Metal*' title:

Dio - Played with Elf, Rainbow, Sabbath and Dio, put in a massive amount of work and has inspired countless bands over the course of his 30+ year career.

Ozzy - OK, this codger has gone off the rails a bit but he can't be turned away that easily. He was in the first metal band ever and sang on some great solo records. He is up there.

Lemmy - Although he denies Motorhead being a metal act, he would be welcomed by most of the HM community as their king due to the band's contribution to the Heavy Metal sound.

Dickinson - One of the greatest singers and easily the most energetic frontman in Heavy Metal. He has sang on some of Iron Maiden's most popular albums as well as having an extensive solo career.

Now let us consider Blaze Bayley.

Blaze Bayley wrote the line, "The car is an oven and baking is wild." Surely that puts him up there with the rest of them? Even Dickinson the great literary genius couldn't have come up with that one!
