To be honest, I'm really not sure why Kiss [I assume you were implying Kiss] chose to wear make-up in the first instance. Without sounding too anti-Semitic, I'm assuming it was just a marketing ploy. It seems to have worked pretty well seeing as Kiss are the most marketable band of all time. I'm not too sure wearing make-up was intended to homoerotic. If it was, it was not as successfully achieved as the marketability aspect seeing as Kiss have seen more rat than a Russian McDonald's.

If you weren't implying Kiss or 'Glam' more generally, then I can only assume you meant Black Metal which is truly angst-ridden and gay.
