I'm starting to go off the idea of living in London, tuther day I was told horror stories of students who don't even have enough money to feed themselves!

But if you're getting a student loan, and get a job, it shouldnt be a problem... and in the end you end up sharing a place with people....

being a student sucks in general, wherever you live... :(

I'm a student and live in London, away from home... and usually have enough money to get wasted every Friday :)

I have enough money to get wasted every night because Sheffield is bad-ass.

I don't think the money is totally prohibitive - though you may well find it necessary to get a part time job. Here's a tip for that: keep your ear to the ground of the student union, for when they are recruiting for jobs for the following year. Hardly any first years are aware of the induction/interview days in advance, so most of the places are filled by second and third years.

Student union jobs are PISS EASY - I have one, I just choose as many or as few hours as I want (none for the last two weeks), which I almost invariably fill lounging on the computers behind the help desk, or occasionally printing off a club ticket for someone. Result!

Sweet, all though Morrisons can transfer me over. I've got an offer from London South Bank and it's tempting me...
