"They've got paper loaded in their guns!"
So good. A couple of years ago I took my girlfriend into a Games Workshop and within about 2 seconds the guy in there was like "WHAT ARMY DO YOU COLLECT?!?!" I had to leave as it felt far too rapey.

Re: Warhammer
ok heres the 2nd Ogryn of the 4 im doing.
i have based him/them on "infested" bases bought from darkartminiatures webstore.he sells some really cool and very reasonable priced resin bases.i cant be arsed with basing like i originally did on the first ogryn, the models take long enough and the base is the last thing to complete the model so
i much prefer painting onto an undercoated detailed base instead of having to glue on bits and pieces of sand/grass/stone/materials etc.
hats off to James' basing skills!
Jamess' bases inspired me to want my bases to be more cooler than the plain ones i did on previous efforts but without spending too much extra time so these maggot infested sci-fi bases had the desired effect.they are more interesting and give the model more character than the plain green/grey ones i did before.
i will continue to use resin/themed bases in future.

Again I really like your style Rik,
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Re: Warhammer
Great stuff, he looks like a real bruiser. Resin bases are cool, it would be good to have a whole army with the same themed base. There are loads of good sites around, I can't remember any of them at the moment though because I've got so out of touch with it.
A good tip for painting gore on weapons is to do a few splatters in a darker shade of red, by mixing a tiny bit of black in - looks more realistic.

Re: Warhammer
Looks good Rik, reminds me of the sort of paint jobs you'd see in the mid-90s in White Dwarf. Proper bold colours.

Re: Warhammer
thanks guys.
yeah Martin,i bought a bundle of random white dwarf mags off ebay and the majority of them were from the mid 90s (also got a few of the various imperial codex's) i use the various mags as inspiration for colour schemes because i find the more current imperial schemes to look slightly bland, and they have a plainer, darker tone of green army colours.
