Lack of circle pits was a shame. Other than that, and the lame support band, it was a fantastic gig!
yep, july.... epic shit.
I don't think there was enough room for a pit to be honest.... it was rammed everywhere.
They played 'More Than Meets the Eye' and 'The Formation of Damnation' from the new album as an encore.... which included a wall of death pit moment that somehow they made space for (I think everyone had to breath in to make room)
The 'New Order' set was the entire album (AFAICT) but they didn't play Nobody's Fault which is on my CD but is a cover anyway so I don't care.
Still can't get over this gig. How fucking cool is it that Testament bothered to do this? They could have just played a normal set and it would have been a sell out. I'm usually pretty cynical but this does seem like a genuine 'for the fans' type thing.
It was really good that there wasn't a lot of chatter, they just went through each album song after song.... brilliant. The bassist fingers were killing him by the end as well.
I liked Chuck's little dig at Megadeth as well... just after they covered 1/2 a Priest song.
What an amazing gig.... wow.
