Re: Warhammer
Some of the older warhammer PC games were pretty crap I thought, whereas Dawn of War is actually brilliant.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Hope you don't find this cheeky but I am in awe of your painting skills, when you get chance next time could you do a big overall army(ies) shot of what you've done so far so I can drool?

Re: Warhammer
It's really hard to get good shots of a big group, but I will try photographing my Nurgle army so far...

Re: Warhammer
Cheers, I can imagine it must be tricky with a macro lens setting and panning out to get them all in so no worries if you can't do it.

Re: Warhammer
Heheh, beats my old biscuit tin.
Niiiiiiiice,
That's coming on strong now, all the colours and variants make sense now they're all together. Should mail them to the magazine for blates.
My favourite has to be the marines with the skull heads, never had anything like that back in the 90's or the green goo so it's great to see what can be done. I wish I could get you the guitar chaos marine from bygone times but an ex has it and she's.... not fully wired.

Re: Warhammer
heres my old school style eldar weapons team.
i went for my own colour scheme as the craftworld schemes are a little too bold.ulthwe craftworld colour scheme is cool, but a bit of a shortcut/cheaters way(as the armour is black)
i wanted a dark tone as they look a bit more serious and less toy-ish compared to the yellow/red schemes.
they didnt take as long as the scorpions (mainly due to the chainmail and jackets)
i used 1 coat of purple and 1 highlight of a light purple/pinky colour.
i couldnt be bothered with 3 coats as the first coat doesnt really make much difference on darker schemes.besides for armour you need one smooth coat with the edges highlighted/shining.
3 coats would be better for skins and materials.
trial and error basicly(as my scorpoins had 3 coats but in hindsight i coulda got away with 2 coats for a similar look)
anyway heres the dudes,im gonna paint the mounted weapon they operate next.

Re: Warhammer
i should use more layers with the colours, like keep painting over the purple and a nice effect will start to build up
