The road is a very bleak film, excellent but unlike the book when things get a little heavy you cant put it down.

I heard they left out the baby-barbecuing scene, probably for the best!

Gonna watch it soon and post up a review.

I'm going to go and watch it again tomorrow. That's right. And right now I'm watching District 9. Yeah, that's right. "The prawn likes to eat rubber" is still my favourite quote from the film.

That or "Hello, little guy! It's the sweetie man coming!"

For some un-godly reason they aren't playing the Road in Braintree, i will have to journey to go see it at some point soon though!

Yeah, it's not a horror really at all, there are some scary bits but not in a jumpy way, more in a 'ooh bloody hell that's a bit 'orrible' kind of way. It's just basically really bleak and depressing, which is brilliant. I just came home from watching it again, and I bloody loved it again. It is a bit of a slog at times though, I think you need to have a lot of patience to watch this kind of film, but I think a lot of great films have that element - eg. Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, and such like extravagances. And the music is amazing, by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis who did the score for The Assassination of Jesse James, which was also a ridiculously amazing film.

Brilliant and glorious. I also really need to see Moon, I hear it's amazing.

Yeah its not scary at all, it just written/played out in such a way there is no hope and the characters are just doing what they can to survive.

Well the whole book/film is about the man preparing his son for the future as he knows he wont be there to help him. As opposed to Man/Boy suviving day after day.

The nicest bit in the story is the bit when the man finds a can of coke and the boy has his first can of coke ever as a "suprise" and just to keep him going. Other then thatl its super depressing

I only just realised Robert Duvall was in the film to.

Great actor

Because they heard a dog which would mean "Bad Guys" would find em, which is quite ironic given the ending if you get me (family that was following them with the dog) or atleast thats what I think

Also the bit where the Man was washing the Boy's hair and the Boy said 'Sham-poo' was hilarious and lovely as well.

Anyway, careful Povey, don't spoil the ending for people like you almost spoilt the Shadow Moses surprise in MGS4 for me!

Fuck you Zurab, it would literally make me quite ill if i wer to see some of the horror movies out these days- just not a massive fan of super tension although il probs go see this.

Saw Avatar last night, what a heap of shit.

Literally the worst possible start to 2010 for me from a movie perspective, just sheer disappointment. Fell asleep twice within the opening hour. The 3D was close to nonexsistant and when it did happen was mostly pointless, maybe il go see it in 2d.

Was it a spectacle? not really, nothing we havnt seen before, just looked big budget, over glossy and overdone. The Navii were bloody annoying, the dialogue throughout was bloody awful and the plot was laughable. No reason that movie should have been as long as it was, the Army General was the saving grace, some of his lines made me laugh "Diplomacy has failed I see" but apart from that meh.

Cant believe i sat through that, James Cameroon has let me down, more titanic then Aliens/T-2 which disappoints me even more and i just cant get away from the fact that the Navii were just really frustratingly annoying, and when they were back on the human side it was just poor acting (especially Marcus from T4 - dunno what his movie/real name was) and yea... picked up in the last half hour with the massive fight, but was still a let down, the bit right at the end reaked of matrix when its a race of time to kill the mech before he kills the other guy - similar to getting Neo back before the Sentinels take down the Nebucanezza (awful spelling)

-anyway...rant over!

I watched District 9 again last night for the second time this week, it's so bloody amazing, and even though I've only seen trailers of Avatar I swear the SFX in District 9 are way better! And Wikus is just the best character ever. "That's bloody rude!"
