After all, 'it' bands are extinct, electro is disappearing up its own arse and kids reared on Emo are looking for something heavier - that could well be thrash!!
Oh great, so gigs are going to be full of trendy wannabe thrashers who are gonna look like emos in municipal waste shirts that deep down just wanna look cool and really dont give a shit about the music.
It'll be just like a fucking heretic gig
i'd rather play full gigs to a bunch of wee fannies who know nothing about the genre but have an interest than to a group of 10 so called 'real' thrashers anyday, people like that are poseurs anyway, and they piss me off, scared that thrash will do well so they can't be a wee elite clique thinking they are better than everyone else coz they have 300 thrash bands on their hard drive rather than 293, i say, bring on widespread interest in thrash, doesnt matter who the fuck turns up, if people are there and mainstream mags are supporting it then thats gotta be a good thing, in some ways i feel thrash fans and bands don't do themselves any favours, like an us against the world thing, we can get nowhere by being a bunch of stuck up posuers and tell them all to fuck off because their not good enough for the music, or put the music out there and welcome them.
