Mind you mine only extend as far as blagging my way into uni atm.
All i have to say for being a teacher is this, 3rd of the year off.
Aye, and in Scotland you start on £19, 000 and get £1, 000 a year more until you reach £31, 000. It's not megabucks, but it's not exactly the most difficult job going.
I would suggest a UK Thrash Teachers' Association (UKTTA) but STD_Caps is a ring.
Do you just want to insult every person on this forum? I'd be offended if you weren't so clearly an ignorant, arrogant cretin. Still, you make me laugh.
I'll tell the aspiring teachers this: it is not as easy as you may think. Having nearly finished my PGCE year I can tell you that it has been more intense than any point of my degree (but not too overwhelming). However, the following year you become an NQT and that is far more intense.
As well as a large amount of paper work and a fair amount of written work (at least with regards to my course), the teaching can be very hard. You might be lucky but the odds are you will find yourself requiring to be both organised and very patient. I think you'll all be surprised at how much discipline has generally decreased since your time in school.
One last thing: your time off will often include a handsome amount of marking and the organisation of schemes of work.
I recommend working as a TA first and seeing if you enjoy the school environment. The odds are you will and consider the course worth the effort. I'm just trying to stop you thinking of teaching as 'I don't know what to be, fuck it, I'll be a teacher'.
