Aye, and in Scotland you start on £19, 000 and get £1, 000 a year more until you reach £31, 000. It's not megabucks, but it's not exactly the most difficult job going.

I would suggest a UK Thrash Teachers' Association (UKTTA) but STD_Caps is a ring.

 Do you just want to insult every person on this forum? I'd be offended if you weren't so clearly an ignorant, arrogant cretin. Still, you make me laugh.

I'll tell the aspiring teachers this: it is not as easy as you may think. Having nearly finished my PGCE year I can tell you that it has been more intense than any point of my degree (but not too overwhelming). However, the following year you become an NQT and that is far more intense.

As well as a large amount of paper work and a fair amount of written work (at least with regards to my course), the teaching can be very hard. You might be lucky but the odds are you will find yourself requiring to be both organised and very patient. I think you'll all be surprised at how much discipline has generally decreased since your time in school.

One last thing: your time off will often include a handsome amount of marking and the organisation of schemes of work.

I recommend working as a TA first and seeing if you enjoy the school environment. The odds are you will and consider the course worth the effort. I'm just trying to stop you thinking of teaching as 'I don't know what to be, fuck it, I'll be a teacher'.

My mate is a NQT at the minute caps, i am well aware of the evils that the course and the following trials brings.

The main reason i want to give it a shot is that i had some rather excellent teachers who made an impact in my life and the idea of being able to do that to some other little whelp is rather appealing.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Fair enough. I basically put down the accurate advice that has been given to me at various points. Have seen a few try to drift into teaching and a lot have left the course, the others probably won't be teachers in a few years time.

I wouldn't mind teaching 6th form upwards, but I'd personally steer clear of secondary!

Not really.

I talk in much the same way to anyone who isn't my mother or sister. If people take offence to my glib comments it's not my fault.

How am I ignorant? Arrogant most certainly but I'm more clued-up on everything than anyone else on here.

I suppose your arrogance pushes you into the realm of ignorance. Your intolerance of other people's view seems to go to the extreme that it seems you cannot comprehend their views. There's a fine line.

Haha, that's a pretty fair assessment of my personality.

I do love being completely unreasonable.

Yes yes, I know, Lez.

The thing is, you don't actually exist so what you say doesn't need to be taken as valid.

P.S. Your MySpace profile isn't very interesting.

It's not bad for someone who doesn't exist.

Having started this thread (and now reading it) I decided to write a song about monkeys (from space) playing crazy golf instead. Cheers to anyone who added something useful either way.

Bollocks to Thrash in the 90's.
